The complexity of the case and the delay in obtaining financial data led to the extension of the deadline until February 2025
Delegate Tiago Fernando Correia, heading the investigation into the mediation of the sponsorship contract between Vai de Bet and Corinthians, requested more time to complete the investigation. The request was made to the Court this Monday (Dec 23, 2024), close to the end of the previous deadline, which would end on December 26, 2024. The information was released by .
The case, under investigation since June 7, 2024 at the 3rd DPPC (Citizenship Protection Police Department), faces challenges, mainly due to the delay in obtaining financial data from banks.
The complexity of the investigation is due, in part, to the need to hear important witnesses, such as the president of Corinthians, Augusto Melo, and the 1st vice president, Osmar Stabile. With the extension of the deadline, it is expected to carry out these interviews by mid-February 2025.
The investigation was motivated by suspicious financial transactions. After receiving R$1.4 million from Corinthians, Rede Social Media Design, intermediary of the contract with Vai de Bet, would have transferred around R$1 million to Neoway Soluções Integradas, suspected of being a shell company.
