The power company made a significant error when reconnecting with incorrect voltage in a condominium located in the neighborhood of Pompeia, west of . This incident resulted in damage to electronic equipment in at least 30 apartments, causing inconvenience and losses to residents. The initial interruption of power supply was caused by heavy rains that hit the region in recent days.
In response to what happened, Enel informed that it will compensate the affected residents, but highlighted that the compensation process will follow current legislation. This means that residents will need to prove the error in the electricity network to receive compensation. This procedure can be time-consuming and bureaucratic, generating dissatisfaction among residents who are already facing material losses caused by the concessionaire’s error.
The intense rains that hit São Paulo not only caused electrical problems, but also resulted in human tragedies. Six deaths were recorded: four in Várzea Paulista, one in the capital and another in Nova Odessa. Additionally, 12 people were injured and 22 municipalities were affected by the storms. Ribeirão Pires, in Greater São Paulo, still faces interruptions in energy supply. Local authorities, together with the Emergency Management Center, are monitoring the situation and issuing bulletins to alert the population about the risks of new storms.
Enel announced that, according to the latest bulletin, around 48 thousand people were still without electricity in its concession area, including the capital of São Paulo. Since last Friday, 666,000 people have been without power, but 97% of the supply has already been restored. Only 3% of consumers still face supply problems. The dealership states that it continues to work to normalize the situation as quickly as possible.
