Long weekends and multiple bridge opportunities: Check out the 2025 calendar

As 2024 draws to a close, many are starting to plan vacations for next year. In 2025, Portuguese workers can count on several holidays and opportunities to take breaks, allowing them to extend their moments of rest. Then confirm the analysis of the 2025 national and regional holiday calendar, as well as the possibilities for long weekends.

The calendar for the year 2025 features five long weekends and four possible bridges. Although two holidays are on the weekend, there are several occasions to optimize time off throughout the year. Three-day weekends include:

• Good Friday (April 18), which culminates in Easter Sunday (April 20);

• April 25th (Friday), Freedom Day;

• August 15th (Friday), Assumption of Our Lady;

• December 1st and 8th (both on Mondays), allowing the rest to be extended at the end of the year.

There is also the possibility of making bridges on some strategic dates, as well as:

• Carnival (March 4), a Tuesday. If a day off is declared on Monday (March 3), it will be possible to extend the rest;

• May 1st (Thursday), Labor Day. With one day of vacation (May 2), it is possible to create a four-day rest;

• June 10th (Tuesday), Portugal Day, which allows for another bridge;

• Corpo de Deus (June 19), on a Thursday, being another opportunity for a long weekend;

• Christmas (December 25th), on a Thursday, with the possibility of a bridge the following day.
