The second phase of the attack began this Monday (23), with the preventive arrest of four people. The investigation targets misappropriation of public resources, corruption and money laundering based on parliamentary amendments, in addition to bidding fraud.
According to the PF, ten search and seizure warrants, four preventive arrest warrants and a precautionary removal order for a public servant were served in the cities of , Salvador, Lauro de Freitas (BA) and Vitória da Conquista (BA) .
Among those arrested are Vidigal Cafezeiro Neto, vice-mayor of Lauro de Freitas (BA), Lucas Dias, secretary of Urban Mobility of Vitória da Conquista (BA), and lobbyist Carlos André, identified as the operator of the scheme.
PF investigations indicate that the criminal group handled around R$1.4 billion in fraudulent contracts and overpriced works.
The organization also had the support of police officers, who passed on information, including the identification of federal agents involved in confidential operations.
In addition to the Federal Police, the Overclean operation brings together the Federal Public Ministry and the (Comptroller General of the Union).
In the first phase of the operation, on the 10th, the PF executed 43 search and seizure warrants, 17 preventive arrest warrants and orders to seize assets.
