The Public Administration (PA) sector recorded a surplus of 2.8% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the first nine months of the year, the National Statistics Institute (INE) reported this Monday.
“Considering values for the three quarters of 2024 as a whole, the AP balance was positive, representing 2.8% of GDP (3.3% of GDP in the same period of 2023)”, in the highlight on “Quarterly National Accounts by Institutional Sector“.
Looking only at the third quarter, the surplus “reached 4,344 million euros, corresponding to 6.0% of GDP (7.3% in the same period last year), with year-on-year increases of 5.4% in revenue and 8.7% of expenditure”.
