The Federal Highway Police () announced the creation of four new access routes between the states of Tocantins and Maranhão, in response to Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira, which occurred last Sunday (22). This bridge was an important link between the cities of Aguiarnópolis (TO) and Estreito (MA), facilitating traffic between the two regions. PRF teams, together with other responsible bodies, are mobilized at the scene of the accident in search of missing people. To date, at least eight vehicles that fell into the river have been located, including four trucks, two cars and two motorcycles.

Unfortunately, a 25-year-old woman was found dead, while a 36-year-old man was rescued with injuries. Furthermore, there are at least 12 people still missing. To facilitate travel, the PRF detailed alternative routes. The first option is the route that goes from Belém to Brasília, passing through Imperatriz (MA). Drivers should follow BR-010, turn right at km 249.6, cross the Dom Affonso Felippe Gregory Bridge and continue along TO-126 until Sítio Novo do Tocantins. From there, the route continues through Axixá do Tocantins, Luzinópolis and Darcinópolis, until accessing BR-226 towards Brasília.

Another alternative is the route from Brasília to Belém, which starts in Darcinópolis. Drivers should follow TO-134 towards Luzinópolis and São Bento do Tocantins, then continue to Axixá do Tocantins and Sítio Novo do Tocantins. The route continues along TO-126 until Imperatriz, where it is possible to cross the Dom Affonso Felippe Gregory Bridge and access the BR-010 towards Belém. In addition to these, there is an option that leaves from Balsas (MA) towards Brasília. Drivers must head to Carolina (MA) and cross the Tocantins River on the ferry to Philadelphia (TO).

Then, the route continues along TO-222 to Araguaina (TO), where you access BR-153 towards the federal capital. Finally, the reverse route, from Brasília to Balsas, was also outlined. Drivers must take the TO-222 from Araguaina to Philadelphia, cross the Tocantins River on the ferry to Carolina and, finally, take the BR-230 to Balsas.
