It turns out there’s an easy way to do it that only requires a few off-the-shelf ingredients. The solution is to use aluminum foil and boiling water when cleaning silver or plated cutlery.
Here are the steps to achieve a mirror-like shine:
- Prepare several pieces of aluminum foil and then roll them up.
- Add baking soda and sugar to a pot of water.
- When the water reaches boiling point, add the foil and cutlery.
- Cook the cutlery in boiling water for 10 minutes, and after removing it, wash it with a sponge and washing-up liquid and rinse it under water. Finally, polish it.
