The We sme les initiative filed lawsuits against two decisions by which the Ministry of the Environment (MŽP) of the Slovak Republic authorized the shooting of 18 bears in the district of Turčianske Teplice. TASR was informed about this by the initiative.
“In the decisions in question, the Ministry completely ignores the previous jurisprudence of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic and allows hunters to shoot bears that have not caused any damage or are not a threat to people. We therefore consider the Ministry’s decisions to be illegal,” stated Marián Hletko from We are the forest.
