The week begins with the release, this Monday (Dec 23, 2023), of the State Consumer Confidence index and the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) for the 3rd quarter of the United Kingdom. On Thursday (Dec 26), the Fed (Federal Reserve) publishes its balance sheet.
The pace of publication of economic indices this week is slower due to the Christmas holiday, on Wednesday (Dec 25). In addition to Wednesday (Dec 25), the United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, Germany, France, Spain and Portugal have a holiday on Thursday (Dec 26) – Boxing Day, where traders sell products at a discount.
The main world stock exchanges will be closed at Christmas and have closing times on Tuesday (Dec 24). In the USA, for example, the NYSE, the New York Stock Exchange, closes its activities at 1pm local time.
