The Municipality of Castro Marim will have the lowest IMI (Municipal Property Tax) in 2025, benefiting several families. This measure is aimed at those who have their own permanent home, going from 0.30% to 0.29% for houses with a market value below R$200,000.
The IMI will be below the minimum rate for residents, while the rate for non-residents will also decrease from 0.40% to 0.39%.
On the other hand, it extends the IPTU for own and permanent homes of 0.29% to all owners who rent homes for this purpose, as an incentive for residential renting.
At the same time, the maximum discount on the Family IMI was also reinforced, which means that property owners who have dependent dependents, residing in the municipality of Castro Marim, benefit from a reduction in the tax amount between 42 and 210 euros.
In relation to the IMT and as a measure to encourage the establishment of residence in the municipality of Castro Marim, all acquisitions of urban buildings dedicated exclusively to personal and permanent housing, whose tax asset value does not exceed 125 thousand euros, are exempt.
This initiative is combined with the Government’s measure for young people, whose base is broader, benefiting each and every resident.
These measures are part of a set of tax benefits implemented in Castro Marim, with the aim of helping families in their economic and financial lives, and are the result of a pioneering regulation in the country with a differentiated tax policy, drawn up and approved in 2022, that has already done deserve a unique distinction at a national level regarding support for families, by the Observatory of Family-Responsible Local Authorities.
Since then, more and more fiscal support has been accumulating for families, and this is the year in which such a measure was dared in strict respect for the revenue structure of the Municipality of Castro Marim.
