The plane that crashed in Gramado, in the mountains of Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil, on Sunday (22) and did not have a black box, according to the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (Cenipa). Two of the victims remain in serious condition.

According to the Civil Police of Rio Grande do Sul, the aircraft model was not required to have a system for recording the crew’s last conversations. Therefore, other forms of information will be needed to determine the causes of this accident.
According to the Brazilian Civil Aviation Regulation (RBAC No. 91), aircraft with more than 10 seats, with turbine engines must have a so-called black box. Furthermore, it is mandatory for models manufactured after 1991.
The aircraft that crashed in Gramado only had nine seats, so it does not comply with civil aviation rules.

The aircraft belonged to businessman Luiz Cláudio Galeazzi, who at the time of the accident was piloting the plane. In another image posted by Lilian Natucci, days before the tragedy. In the comments, one of the teenagers, identified as Maria Eduarda Galeazzi, wrote: “I love you, grandma.”
According to reports, Galeazzi was and everyone died as a result of the plane crash.

The causes of the plane crash are being investigated by the Fifth Regional Service for the Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (SERIPA V), located in Canoas, RS.
