The Poprad hospital received a subsidy for the digitization of pathology. From the contract on the provision of a financial contribution published in the Central Register of Contracts, it follows that the project from the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Slovak Republic through the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic will go 490.000 eur. Thanks to this, they will be digitized to use artificial intelligence in the department of pathological anatomy there.
The project is called Digitized pathology supported by artificial intelligence and the total duration of its implementation is 13 months. Four main activities are part of the plan – digitization of the procedure for processing specimens, further digitization of specimens using a “full glass” digital scanner, storage of digital examinations in a data repository and integration with NZIS services (National Health Information System) and archive of imaging examinations. The goal of the project is, among other things, to achieve a 75 percent share of pathological examinations related to oncological diagnoses archived in digital format.
