On Tuesday (24), Atlético Mineiro announced the renewal of goalkeeper Éverson, 34 years old, Galo’s standout player in the 2024 season. The new contract runs until December 2027.
The athletic board’s competition was Bahia, which offered 3 million euros, approximately R$19 million, to have the athlete, according to information from Rádio Itatiaia, in Belo Horizonte.
The northeastern club also offered R$1 million in salary and a three-year contract, but Everson chose to remain at Galo – and had a salary increase in the new contract.

Éverson no Galo’s season
An absolute starter, Éverson made 59 appearances for the Minas Gerais club in 2024. Despite the only title being the Campeonato Mineiro, Galo went far in the Copa do Brasil and Libertadores – on both occasions they were runners-up, to Flamengo and Botafogo, respectively. .
At the club since 2020, Everson has played 277 games for Atlético. He is the fourth goalkeeper who defended Galo the most times, only behind João Leite (684), Kafunga (around 500 games), and Victor (424), as informed by the club in the renewal statement.
