The body of a man was found in the early hours of Saturday (21) on a plot of land in Campina Grande, Paraíba, in the Northeast region of Brazil. The dancer identified as Admilson Julião Martins, aged 53, known as Maia, had his heart ripped out and stones were in its place.

The victim’s body was pierced and Maia’s belongings and jewelry were not taken, which initially rules out a crime of robbery, according to the police.
The man reportedly went out on Friday night (20) and informed his family that he was going to drink with his friends. However, the victim did not return to the house and was found dead hours later. Maia was the owner of Mah Companhia de Dança.

Friends of the dancer mourned Maia’s death and published tributes expressing solidarity with the family. “The stages are empty. There is an invisible crowd that silently mourns your absence […] There are only tears and memories that turn into infinite LONGING!”, wrote a friend of the victim.
Friends also called for justice for the death of the man who had his heart ripped out: “It is absurd of absurdities that such cruelty revolts us. And we ask, we want urgent justice! Nothing justifies such a monstrosity.”
