The President of the Republic does not have a Christmas message, but a New Year’s message. However, as has also been customary, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa where he asked to reject the “monopoly of truth” and overcome “unfair discrimination”.
It’s not yet the New Year’s message, but Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa also inaugurated the tradition of writing an article for Christmas, in the form of a message, on the day the prime minister is supposed to speak.

He refers to all those for whom this is not the desired Christmas, not only those within the community, which he calls family, who suffer or feel dissatisfaction, but also those within communities, coming from the other side of the world, they fight for values, principles and concrete causes.
This is where the President wanted to get to, inclusion, when the country debates perceptions about immigration or security.
Marcelo takes dignity, freedom and equality to, on the one hand, refuse the monopoly of truth and, on the other, demand the overcoming of unfair discrimination.
It is not yet the New Year’s message, but the President, who has been repeating the risks of a world that saw future prospects worsen in 2024, has already brought forward the votes for 2025 this day.
