The Federal Police (PF) will use underwater drones to help locate victims of the crash and submerged trucks. The work will be carried out by the Federal Police’s Maritime Police Unit, which will carry out a sweep of the Tocantins River. A multidisciplinary team, made up of five experts from the National Institute of Criminalistics, should arrive at the scene this Wednesday (25), and will be responsible for preparing at least three reports. On Tuesday (24), the PF to determine who was responsible for the collapse of the central part of the Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira bridge, which connects Maranhão to Tocantins, last Sunday.

Four people died and another 13 were missing (11 adults and two children) after ten vehicles, including cars, trucks and motorcycles, fell into the river. The investigation will be conducted by the Federal Police Superintendences in Maranhão and Tocantins, which have jurisdiction over the area.
