Aircraft took off with 67 people on board; according to local authorities, 28 survived

The plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines with 67 people on board near the city of Aktau, in Kazakhstan, this Wednesday (Dec 25, 2024).
The aircraft took off from Azerbaijan and was destined for Russia. According to Kazakh authorities, 28 people survived. The information is from the agency Reuters.

In a statement, Kazakhstan’s Emergencies Ministry said survivors, including two children, were taken to the emergency room.
Azerbaijan Airlines said the jet had to make an emergency landing near Aktau after hitting a bird. The city is on the side of the Caspian Sea that is opposite Azerbaijan and Russia.
