Five people were injured and hospitalized on Monday (23) when two chairlifts collided at the Heavenly Mountain ski resort in Lake Tahoe, United States. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. on the Comet Express cable car, causing some passengers to fall about 30 feet, according to the NBC.
The accident happened days after 174 people were trapped in their gondolas for hours at the Winter Park Resort in Colorado.
A witness told the TV network that he saw one of the chairs slide back and hit another.

On Saturday, the ski lift system at Colorado’s Winter Park Resort stopped just after noon when it detected a malfunction. Some passengers were trapped for around four hours.
According to the resort, the elevator stops automatically when it detects a problem in the system.
