Brazilian fighter Fabricio Werdum took advantage of Christmas Eve to reveal that he will return to compete professionally. This Tuesday (24), he used social media to inform his fans that he has a fight scheduled for April.
At 47 years old, Werdum did not give details about the fight, but denied any possibility of retirement.
“Who said I was retired? April, I’m back! Heeeyy Note: At 47 years old I feel like a kid!”, wrote the fighter on his social networks.
UFC champion, Fabrício Werdum has not fought since September 2023, when he was defeated by fellow Brazilian Júnior Cigano in bare-knuckle MMA. In early December, he was announced as one of the participants in the Global Fight League, a new MMA organization, but the rival was not revealed.
Over his more than 20-year career, Fabrício Werdum has 24 wins, nine defeats and one draw on his professional record. In 2015, he won the UFC heavyweight champion title by beating Cain Velásquez in Mexico City.
