Looking for reinforcements for 2025, Botafogo is considering making a proposal for Miguel AlmirónParaguayan midfielder who plays for Newcastle, in England.
The has already sought information about the 30-year-old athlete’s values from the English, who paid 24 million euros for Almirón in 2019 and with whom he has a contract until June 2026.
Interest in hiring Almirón was initially published by Medeiros Channel and confirmed by Itatiaia.
Almirón was revealed by and, after three seasons in the first team, he was traded to Lanús, from Argentina. Afterwards, he played for two years at Atlanta United, in the United States.
So, the Paraguayan midfielder arrived for the 2018-19 season. At the English club, there are 219 matches. In the current season, the number 24 started 13 of the 21 games for coach Eddie Howe’s team.
Almirón is also a key figure in the Paraguay team, which is vying for a place in the 2026 World Cup in the United States. The midfielder has eight goals in 64 games defending his country.
Eyeing 2025
The victories of the Copa Libertadores and the Brazilian Championship will allow Botafogo to seek three unprecedented cups in 2025: the Brazilian Super Cup, the Recopa Sul-Americana and the Club World Cup. In addition, the club will compete in Carioca, the Copa do Brasil, the Libertadores and the Brasileirão.
The turn of the year, however, will mean another reformulation of the cast. Gatito Fernández, Almada, Tchê Tchê and Eduardo have already left the team.
