An accident involving a truck and a SAMU ambulance left four people dead on BR-476 on Wednesday night (25), Christmas Day, in the city of Paulo Frontin, in the south of Paraná. The fatal victims were in the ambulance and were the driver of the vehicle, the SAMU doctor, a nurse and the patient who was being transported. The collision was recorded around 9pm, at Km 312 of Rodovia do Xisto, close to Curvas do Limoeiro.

According to the Irati Fire Department, which responded to the incident, the ambulance was hit by a truck loaded with milk and was completely destroyed. The SAMU doctor, the nurse and the patient died at the scene. The bodies were trapped in the vehicle and were removed with the help of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was rescued in serious condition and taken to the hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.
The bodies of the four victims killed in the accident on BR-476 were sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML).

Two occupants of the truck, the driver and a passenger, suffered minor injuries, were rescued and taken to an Emergency Unit with bruises.
According to firefighters, the truck cabin and the SAMU ambulance were destroyed. The Civil Police will investigate the causes of the accident.
