(Bloomberg) — Japan Airlines Co. said it has resumed ticket sales for international and domestic flights after resolving a system problem caused by a cyber attack on Thursday morning (26).

Ticket sales are back up and running after being halted as a result of the incident, the airline said in a statement at 2:19 p.m. Tokyo time. The systems were restored without any customer data leaks, and there is no virus damage, the company said.

Twenty-four domestic flights were delayed by at least 30 minutes due to the issue as of 11 a.m., the carrier said earlier, but the issue did not affect flight safety or delay international services.

JAL shares rose as much as 0.4% after the company released the resolution, staging a recovery from a 2.5% drop in morning trading in Tokyo.

Although Christmas Day is not a public holiday in Japan, the glitch occurred during the peak winter travel season when many people take vacations.

Separately, Japan Post Holdings Co. said in a statement that it was experiencing nationwide mail delivery delays as a result of the JAL issue.

Continues after advertising

On Christmas Eve, American Airlines Group Inc. said a technical issue with DXC Technology Co., a third-party vendor that maintains the carrier’s flight operating systems, caused a brief ground stop on all U.S. flights. This stop lasted about an hour.
