Pep Guardiola is experiencing the most dramatic moment of his career as a coach. This Thursday (26/12), Manchester City, led by the coach, only drew 1-1 with Everton at home.
City have gone five games without winningcounting all the competitions the team competes in, with three defeats and two draws in the period.
In the last 13 games, including all competitions, the team has one win, nine defeats and three draws.
City are seventh in the Premier League and 22nd in the Champions League.

Manchester City’s bad phase began in October, with a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham, and deepened with the following two games. First, they lost to the modest Bournemouth 2-1, then to Sporting, from Portugal, in a 4-1 defeat.
Since then, the team’s only victory was against Nottingham Forest, on December 4, in the Premier League.
Despite the bad phase, Pep Guardiola renewed his contract with the English club until the end of the 2026/27 season. The coach even stated that he was closer to leaving than staying with the English team, but agreed on the new contract.
When commenting on the future after renewing with City until the end of the 2026/27 season, the coach assured that he will not coach another team after leaving the Citizens, leaving open only the possibility of taking over a national team.
– I’ll stop. I won’t manage any other team after City. I’m not talking about a distant future, but what I’m not going to do is leave here, go to another country and do the same thing I do today. Maybe a selection, but it’s a different situation – he told the “Demontadito” podcast.
It is worth noting that City has not been able to count on the presence of midfielder Rodri, the last Ballon d’Or winner, who suffered a serious injury to his right knee on September 23 and is out for the season.
