Lisbon North Logistics Park (PLLN)
A new complex of data centers (data storage and management platforms) will arrive in Lisbon in 2027 and create 600 jobs.
It will arrive in Portugal, more specifically Vila Franca de Xiraone of the biggest campus of data centers from Europe.
The investment could reach one billion euros and is expected to bring 600 jobs.
Work began in November and it is expected that the first phase of the space – inserted in the North Lisbon Logistics Platform (PLLN) – will be ready in 2027.
In an interview with the newspaper, Jack Carnemarkexecutive director of Edged Energy and founder of Endeavour, which developed the project for Lisbon Campus in partnership with Merlin Properties, states that he is proud “to contribute to the rapid growth of the digital economy in Portugal”.
In the same newspaper, the Vila Franca de Xira Chamber guarantees that the project will not require an environmental impact assessmentwith the justification that it will be developed in accordance with the urban and environmental parameters already approved for this PLLN lot.
Merlin Properties explained that the project includes five data centers world-class, designed to provide 180MW of critical powerusing 100% renewable energy.

These data centersas a new asset class that is driving the company’s growth, will place Portugal in a prominent position”, Ismael Clemente, founder and executive director of Merlin Properties, told Público.
“The country benefits from a privileged location for communications via submarine cables, a robust electrical grid and renewable energy, in an environment that favors investment, promotes innovation and offers highly attractive economic fundamentals”, he praised.
In addition to the data storage and artificial intelligence infrastructure, as highlighted by Público, the project includes training and research spacesand extensive green areas, with photovoltaic panels.
