Annual event raises items for charities in Spain and the Malabo Orphanage in Equatorial Guinea

The fans of , in Spain, made the traditional “rain of stuffed animals” during halftime of the game against Rayo Vallecano, at the Benito Villamarín stadium, on Sunday (Dec 22, 2024). The event broke a record, with the collection of 20 thousand toys destined for children in socially vulnerable situations.

The number surpassed the previous milestone of 19 thousand toys collected in 2021. The Real Betis Foundation, a non-profit entity linked to the club, organizes the action to promote sport as a means of education and combat social inequality.

The “plush rain” has been held annually since 2018 and is expected by fans and benefiting institutions. The club threw the toys onto the field and then distributed them to charities in Spain and the Malabo Orphanage, in Equatorial Guinea.
