Announcement comes a week after the assassination of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, killed on December 17 by a bomb hidden in an electric scooter
The Federal Security Service (FSB), the country’s main security agency, said it has arrested four suspects accused of involvement in an alleged plot to assassinate high-ranking military officers at the Russian Ministry of Defense. The announcement comes a week after the assassination of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, killed on December 17 by a bomb hidden in an electric scooter. The FSB said the suspects were planning to kill one of the officers with a remotely controlled car bomb and that another would be killed by an explosive device hidden in an envelope. The agency did not reveal the names of the military officers who were targeted in the alleged conspiracy, but released a video showing the arrest and interrogation of those arrested.
