Since the ÖVP has governed Salzburg together with the FPÖ, the hunters have had an influential advocate in the country in the form of Deputy Governor Marlene Svazek (FPÖ). The hunter and responsible state councilor unpacked the shotgun immediately after taking office and has since had more and more animals shot by decree.
