Ukrainian air defenses shot down more than 50 of the 70 Russian missiles launched by Russia this morning in an “inhumane” Christmas Day attack on energy infrastructure in Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.
What Zelensky said about the missile attack
“Today (Russian President Vladimir) Putin deliberately chose Christmas to attack. What could be more inhumane? Over 70 missiles, including ballistic missiles, and over a hundred attack drones,” Zelensky said in a post on the Telegram application.
The Ukrainian president added that there were strikes and power outages in several regions due to the Russian incursion. “The goal was our energy. They continue to fight for a blackout in Ukraine,” noted Zelensky, according to what APE-MPE reports.

A Russian missile aimed at Ukraine crossed the airspace of Moldova and Romania during a massive attack by Russia this morning against the neighboring country, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibikha said.
“A Russian missile passed through the airspace of Moldova and Romania, which is a reminder that Russia is not only a threat to Ukraine,” Sibikha noted in a post on the social networking site X.
