The former federal deputy Daniel Silveira Last Sunday (22), he violated the isolation imposed as a condition of his parole for more than ten hours. The information was revealed by GloboNews and confirmed by the newspaper The State of S. Paulo.
Silveira’s series of non-compliances was reported by the Rio Penitentiary Administration Secretariat to the minister’s office Alexandre de Moraesof the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
The Court had established a series of requirements for the former deputy’s parole, such as the use of an electronic ankle bracelet, a ban on using social media and home confinement at night, from 10pm to 6am, and on weekends.

The geolocation report states that there were nine violations on Sunday, including a trip lasting more than an hour to the Vilarejo shopping center, in Petrópolis, where the former deputy lives. He would also have met with other people, which is prohibited.
“As if the disrespect that occurred on Saturday and early Sunday morning was not enough, during the remainder of the 22nd (Sunday), the convict, in an inexplicable manner, remained outside his residence for more than 10 (ten) hours, from where he could not could – by express legal determination – be absent at any time. Among countless other addresses visited, the convict spent more than an hour in the shopping mall (occurrence 14, date: 22/12/2024, arrival: 13:12, departure: 14:16), reinforcing the absence of any serious health problem, as falsely alleged by his defense” wrote Moraes in an order signed on Thursday (26).
Two days earlier, the minister had already certified, in another order, that Silveira lied and omitted information about his real trip over the weekend, including the delay in returning home after a trip to the doctor. The former deputy was arrested on Christmas Eve, after four days on probation.

Silveira’s defense claims that he had to go to the hospital on Sunday and, after being released by doctors, he remained under observation for around an hour. One of the tests carried out by the former deputy registered a rate above normal, which led the doctor to suggest follow-up with a kidney specialist, he says.
The former parliamentarian’s lawyers say that the measure is “disproportionate, arbitrary, illegal and irrational, as it was taken in a clearly unequivocal persecutory spirit, violating the law with the indisputable application of the enemy’s criminal law, and in yet another act of abuse of authority ”. They also state that “everything was duly justified, but ignored by the rapporteur”.
After his arrest, Daniel Silveira underwent a custody hearing via videoconference with a judge appointed by the STF. At the hearing, the former deputy said he never intended to disrespect Moraes’ rules and said he has serious kidney problems. He limited himself to saying that he went to the hospital without making any detours on the route.
