Once again there is damage to important infrastructure in the Baltic Sea. After internet cables and gas pipes, this time it’s about power supply. According to initial investigations, the “Estlink 2” power cable, which connects Estonia to the Finnish power grid, was destroyed by a ship’s anchor. The repairs will take months, authorities said. This will also slow down the process by which the Baltic states want to finally separate from the former Soviet power grid with Russia in the course of 2025.
