It is already a traditional date in the domestic political calendar: At the turn of the year, the KPÖ representatives present the sums that they have passed on from their political salaries to people in need. For years it was only the Styrian Dark Reds – after the election successes in Salzburg State and City as well as in Innsbruck, two more federal states have now been added. In total, the MPs and city government members of the KPÖ passed on around 437,000 euros in 2024; They maintain an average skilled worker wage (median income), which currently corresponds to around 2,500 euros.
