Israel discovers weapons cache hidden in pharmacy in Lebanon

Explosives, missiles, machine guns, mortars and other weapons were found at the site; Israeli troops also found a truck with 40 rocket launchers

The Israeli Army discovered a cache of weapons hidden inside a pharmacy in a city in southern Lebanon, this Friday (Dec 27, 2024). Inside, the military found machine guns, missiles, explosives, mortars and other weapons.

As released by the IDF (Israel Defense Forces), the depot was in the city of Naqoura, in the extreme south of Lebanon, close to the border with Israel. The weapons were used to carry out attacks on the country, according to the IDF.

In another action in the city, the military found a truck loaded with 40 rocket launchers and missiles that were aimed at Israel, ready to be fired.

Weapons and equipment were seized and destroyed.

On the border between Lebanon and Syria, the Israeli Army destroyed a structure that was used as a weapons trafficking route for the terrorist group Hezbollah, also this Friday (Dec 27).

According to the IDF, the structure was used by Hezbollah’s “Unit 4400”, which was responsible for trafficking weapons from Iran to Lebanon through neighboring countries. To this end, “Unit 4400” built several clandestine routes for the illegal transportation of weapons.

Also according to the IDF, the leader of “Unit 4400”, Muhammad Ja’far Qasir, was killed in a military operation in October this year, in Beirut, capital of Lebanon. Qasir’s successor, Ali Hassan Gharib, was executed weeks later in Damascus, the capital of Syria.

ATTACKS IN GAZA LEAVE 10 DEAD

New arrivals from Israel in the Gaza Strip this Thursday (Dec 26) left at least 10 people dead, including 5 journalists, according to health authorities in the Palestinian enclave. Doctors warned that the number of fatalities could increaseas many people remain trapped under the rubble.

An Israeli airstrike on a house in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City left 5 dead and 20 injured. In another incident, 5 journalists were killed when a vehicle carrying them was hit near Al-Awda hospital in Nuseirat, central Gaza.
