The opposition KDH criticizes the actions of the Prime Minister of the SR Robert Fico (Smer-SD) in recent days. It pointed to his trip to the Kremlin without informing the citizens of the Slovak Republic about the purpose and to the sharp exchange of views with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. TASR was informed about this by the spokesperson of the movement, Lenka Kovár.
“Robert Fico is not a peacemaker. The peacemaker is predestined for this important position primarily by the actions and respect of all parties involved – especially the two parties between which peace negotiations should take place,” the movement said. As it added, at the summit of the heads of state of the European Union, Fico again took the opposite side in important geopolitical issues.
The movement noted that the initial information about the main point of the Slovak Prime Minister’s trip to the Kremlin came from the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov. “With the passage of time, we again learn from the media of the state that declared us an enemy that it was also an invitation to peace negotiations. And all this at a time when Russia intensified its attacks on Ukraine and the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs repeated that a cease-fire is a road to nowhere“, KDH added.
