Flight took off from the federal capital bound for Teresina, but had problems with the communication system

A Latam Brasil plane made a forced landing at Brasília Airport on Thursday night (Dec 26, 2024) after reporting problems with the communication system. According to the specialized website the pilots lost contact with the control tower.

The flight was destined for the city of Teresina, in Piauí. With the failure, the Airbus A320ceo model plane circled over the federal capital to dump fuel and land safely back at Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport.

In a statement, Latam said that passengers are safe. They were reassigned to a new flight this Friday (Dec 27) to the capital of Piauí. The plane was subjected to a “unscheduled corrective maintenance”.

On social media, internet users published the route taken by the aircraft in Brasília before the unscheduled landing. This tracking is done by platforms such as FlightRadar24, which uses data from satellites and radar to track air routes.
