A 1-year-old child died after her mother fell on her in Nova Laranjeiras, in the Center-South of Paraná, this Thursday (26). The child’s mother was being attacked by her husband and ended up falling on her daughter, according to the first information collected by the Civil Police. The situation must still be clarified during the process.

In a statement, the Civil Police spokesperson confirmed the child’s death and stated that the perpetrator of the crime had already been identified: “The PCPR is carrying out measures to investigate the facts. Therefore, an investigation is already underway, the perpetrator of the crime has already been identified and, as soon as the facts are clarified, further information will be released”, says the note.

The child’s father, suspected of domestic violence, may be charged with homicide, but the classification of the crime will only be confirmed after the police investigation is completed. No one has been arrested so far. The cause of death has not yet been clarified, and the police chief is awaiting the report from the Legal Medical Institute (IML).

According to information from Portal Cantu, the 29-year-old mother arrived at a health unit with her daughter in her arms, but the girl was already dead. The woman had a deep cut on her head and reported that she was a victim of domestic violence. She was taken to the police station to provide clarification.
