The actor’s wake took place this Friday, the 27th, in Rio de Janeiro. The farewell ceremony was open to the public at the Municipal Theater and was also attended by famous friends.
Among those present were the actress Lucinha Lins,Tarcísio Filho, Edwin Louise, Marcos Frota, Marcelo Serrado, Maria Padilha and more friends. They went to the place to pay their last respects to their friend and, Ed Botelho.
Soon after the wake, the coffin with Ney Latorraca’s body will be taken to the crematorium. The cremation ceremony will be closed to family and close friends only.
The actor on December 26th, at the age of 80, after being hospitalized for a few days in Rio de Janeiro. According to the G1 website, he died as a result of prostate cancer and pulmonary sepsis.
The artist was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2019 and had surgery to remove the gland. However, the disease returned in August 2024 and it metastasized.
Ney Latorraca left a will
The actor left a will with his instructions for the division of his assets. According to the F5 website, from Jornal Folha de S. Paulo, .
The publication revealed that he wanted to donate his four apartments to social projects. The artist owned four properties, one in São Paulo and three in Rio de Janeiro – in Jardim Botânico, Copacabana and Ipanema.
The artist wanted to invest in real estate throughout his life to have peace of mind in his old age with a fixed source of income. Now, with his death, the apartments must be donated to entities that he chose and left in his will.
In an interview with Veja Rio magazine, the actor talked about his desire. “I put it in my will that I’m going to donate all four. One goes to ABBR (Associação Brasileira Beneficente de Reabilitação), the other to Retiro dos Artistas. The other two, one goes to the Support Group for Children with AIDS, in Santos, and one more goes to a group dedicated to leprosy victims. It’s all in my will. I made a point,” he said.
