The actor and director Ed Botelho66, got emotional when talking about her husband, Ney Latorracawho died this Thursday (26), aged 80. On TV, he revealed some memories alongside his husband.
“This will remain wonderful person that he was, everyone’s friend, this great person, who knew how to joke with everything”, she said in an interview with a report by Jornal Nacional, on TV Globo.
also mentioned the musical comedy Seu NeyLa, which honored the actor’s 60th anniversary in 2022. He participated in the event in a hybrid way, appearing on a big screen.
“It ended up being a wonderful moment, because it was an unprecedented scene. It really was a spectacle, he appeared on the huge screen and interacted with the actors”, recalled Botelho.
The director concluded: “I have seen this several times, [as pessoas o chamando de] Mr Neyla. He took it completely as a joke.”
The couple, who have always kept a low profile about their personal life, have established a strong relationship since 1995, when they met. Edi Botelho, in addition to being an actor and director, is the author of the book “Gerald Thomas – Citizen of the World“.
Together, they worked on plays such as “O Martelo” (1999) and “Entredentes” (2014). Despite their long relationship, the couple chose not to have children. .
Death of Ney Latorraca
Actor and director Ney Latorraca died this Thursday (26), aged 80, in the south zone of Rio de Janeiro. The information was confirmed by Clínica São Vicente, from Rede D’or, where he was hospitalized.
“Clínica São Vicente deeply regrets the death of patient Antonio Ney Latorraca this Thursday morning and sympathizes with his family and friends for this irreparable loss. The hospital also informs that it does not have authorization from the family to disclose further details”, says the note.
Ney Latorraca was born in Santos, on the south coast of São Paulo, on July 25, 1944. The actor debuted on Rede Globo, where he became known for roles in soap operas and humorous programs, in 1975, in the soap opera Escalada, broadcast in black and white.
The vampire Vlad, in the soap opera “Vamp” (1991), and the character Barbosa, in “TV Pirata”, were major highlights in the artist’s career.
