During tactical patrolling on Avenida Amazonas, in Epitaciolândia, police officers from the Rapid and Overt Intervention Group (GIRO) approached two individuals who were traveling on a Bros model motorcycle, without license plates and without rear view mirrors. The team identified behaviors that raised suspicions and decided to carry out the interception.
During the personal search, the agents found a simulacrum of a pistol in the waistband of one of the motorcycle’s occupants. When questioned, the men, Bolivian nationals, confessed that they planned to steal a woman’s vehicle and transport it to Cobija, Bolivia.
During the approach, it was observed that the suspects were wearing two layers of clothing, which, according to the police, was a strategy to make identification difficult in the event of escape or recognition by victims.
After the interception, the two were taken to the police station to carry out legal procedures. Authorities are also investigating the duo’s possible connection to other crimes in the region. The action is part of the police’s strategies to intensify the fight against cross-border crime in the municipality.
