Around 100 people participated in the first nudist cinema sessions held in Spain, which took place on Sunday, in two cinemas, in Barcelona and Valencia. The screenings of the horror film You Are Not Me were exclusive to nudists and had around 50 spectators in each room, mostly men. Find out more in this article.
To participate, you had to respect three simple rules: use a towel to completely cover the seat, take off your clothes only inside the room and be a member of the naturist associations in Valencia or Catalonia. The idea for these sessions arose due to the participation of a group of nudists from the Valencian naturist association as extras in the film, reveals .
“Nudism is more than taking off your clothes. It means freeing ourselves from the shame and impositions that weigh us down”, said Angela, one of the participants in the session in Valencia, in an interview with El País.
Segimon Rovira, representative of the Catalan Naturism Association, explained that nudism is normally practiced in contact with nature, such as on beaches or mountains. However, in winter, conditions do not allow these activities, so the association organizes visits to exhibitions, museums and, now, cinema sessions.
“It’s not about promoting naked cinema visits, but about normalizing nudity and removing it from any sexual connotation,” added Rovira.

These sessions were the first of their kind in Spain, and nudists hope that similar initiatives will contribute to the acceptance and “normalization” of the practice.
