According to the statement of the Russian ambassador in Beijing, Igor Morgulova, plans are already being prepared.
Chinese President Xi Jinping is scheduled to visit Russia next year. Russian Ambassador to Beijing Igor Morgulov said this in an interview with RIA Novosti published on Friday. TASR informs about it based on a Reuters report.
“As for specific bilateral events, I can say that the relevant plans are already being actively prepared,” said Morgulov.
“From what is not a secret – and according to priorities – it can be said that next year the visit of the Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of China to Russia, the jubilee 30th regular meeting of the Prime Ministers and the 11th meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission are expected,” he added. Chinese the Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not immediately comment on this announcement.
China blames NATO for the problems
Xi Jinping was last in Russia in March 2023 after he was elected president for the third time. During a three-day state visit, he met with President Vladimir Putin and signed several agreements on strengthening the strategic partnership. Putin last visited China in May 2024. Before that, he was there in February 2022 only a few days before launching the so-called special military operation in Ukraine.
Morgulov also said that China, which did not officially condemn the invasion of Russian forces, understood the essence of the conflict with Ukraine, as it faces similar challenges in the form of increasing military pressure from the United States and its allies in the Asia-Pacific region.
“The global security initiative presented by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2022 ensures the resolution of any conflicts by eliminating the root causes of their outbreak,” Morgulov said.
According to him, the North Atlantic Alliance is “devising plans to move its military infrastructure” to this region, so Russia and China must react to US policy together.
