Yemeni rebels have claimed responsibility for the attack on the airport in Tel Aviv.
Yemen’s Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for a rocket attack on Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv on Friday. The Israeli army announced that it intercepted the rocket before it entered the country’s airspace. Israeli airstrikes hit Sana’a International Airport and other targets in rebel-held parts of Yemen on Thursday. TASR writes according to reports from AFP, TASS and DPA agencies.
“The missile reached its target, the operation resulted in casualties and the suspension of navigation at the airport,” Houthi spokesman Yahya Sari told Yemen’s Al-Masirah television. According to him, the attack destroyed a key Israeli target near Tel Aviv.
The Houthis also claimed responsibility for the attack on the Santa Ursula ship in the Arabian Sea, and according to them, “(Israeli) aggression will only increase the determination and determination of the great Yemeni people to continue supporting the Palestinian people.” They declared that they would continue the attacks until the end of the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli military said on Thursday it had struck infrastructure used by the Houthis at Sana’a airport and power plants and ports in rebel-held areas of Yemen. At least six people were killed and about 40 others were injured in the attack. The Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus was also at the airport at the time of the attack.
