Tolls between Lisbon and Algarve or Porto will rise this Wednesday, but there is more

Tolls on the A1, between Lisbon and Porto, will increase by 70 cents, to 24.60 euros, from January 1st, while those on the A2, between Lisbon and Algarve, will increase by 60 cents, to 23.30 euros, announced this Friday -Friday the dealership.

These increases, for class 1 vehicles, have as a reference, as provided for in the concession contract, the annual inflation rate, without housing, registered in October on the continent, and the additional 0.1% contemplated by law due to the limitation in the increase in tolls imposed in 2023 due to the context of high inflation.

As announced Friday in a statement, toll rates on the motorways under concession will be updated by 2.21% from January 1, 2025.

The update mechanism covers 52 of the 93 class 1 toll rates, with Brisa highlighting that, as seen in the past, also in 2025 “there are cases of toll rates that show a variation below the average or even zero, and, in In other cases, toll rates vary higher than the average, as they have not been updated in previous years”.

This is what explains the increase in the two routes mentioned and why, for example, between Lisbon and Cascais (A5) it remains unchanged at 1.50 euros, while the trip between Lisbon and Oeiras increases by five cents, now costing 0.40 euros.

Traveling via CREL, in turn, will cost an additional 15 cents from January 1st, for a total of 3.70 euros, while the route Porto/Valença (A3) increases by 20 cents (to 9.95 euros) and the connection Marateca/Caia (A2/A6) increases 35 cents, to R$15.05.

The information released today by Brisa also indicates that the concessionaire plans to invest 64 million euros in its network, namely in pavement improvement works and rehabilitation of viaducts and embankments, among other works.
