Paraná’s public security forces are mobilized to guarantee the tranquility and safety of the population during New Year’s Eve celebrations. The Public Security Secretariat of Paraná (Sesp) coordinated integrated planning involving the Military Police (PMPR), Fire Department (CBMPR), Civil Police (PCPR), Scientific Police (PCP) and Criminal Police (PPPR), each playing a role specific within the Verão Maior Paraná strategy.
According to the State Secretary of Public Security, Hudson Leôncio Teixeira, he highlighted that agents are equipped to guarantee a safe end of the year for residents and tourists.
“We are mobilizing our security forces with equipment, personnel and technology to ensure that residents and tourists can enjoy the end of year festivities with peace of mind. The commitment of the Government of Paraná is to provide excellent security for everyone”, stated Teixeira.
The Paraná Military Police (PMPR) will carry out land, water and air patrols. The actions will feature mobile modules, radio patrols, quadricycles, UTVs and specialized units, such as Rone, Choque, Cirocam, Rotam, Cotamotran, Cavalaria and Corp. Aerial monitoring will be carried out by the Air Operations Military Police Battalion (BPMOA), with drone support.
Highway inspection and security reinforcement
The State Highway Police (PRE) will reinforce inspection on state highways that provide access to the coast and the main tourist attractions, with a focus on curbing infractions such as speeding, drunk driving and prohibited overtaking. In addition, guidance and traffic control actions will be intensified to ensure safety and fluidity on the roads.
According to the corporation, fixed bases will be installed at the main crowding points along the resorts to increase police presence and guarantee the safety of vacationers.
The Fire Department (CBMPR) will reinforce its teams with ambulances and task forces. The beaches will have tactical patrols, using boats, drones and other equipment. The lifeguard stations will operate from 8am to 7pm, offering service in strategic areas.
The Civil Police (PCPR) will have an expanded presence on the coast, with reinforcements from the Special Police Operations Center (Cope) and the Dog Operations Center (NOC). Furthermore, the Mobile Police Station will be strategically positioned to record police reports and answer questions from the population.
A Scientific Police (PCP) hearse will be available 24 hours a day in Guaratuba to speed up assistance. Furthermore, PCP structured teams to serve the municipalities of Matinhos, Guaratuba and Pontal do Paraná, with support in Paranaguá for the other coastal cities.
The Paraná Penal Police (PPPR) will play a crucial role in the management and security of prisons and public jails on the coast and nearby regions. In addition to constant monitoring to prevent escapes and maintain order in the units, PPPR will intensify monitoring of people with electronic ankle bracelets in the region, ensuring compliance with the conditions imposed by the Court.
