A 31-year-old woman was attacked by a police officer during an approach that took place on Sunday (22), in Colombo, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba. The moment was recorded on video and the images are circulating on social media (watch below).
According to the Military Police of Paraná (PMPR), the agents were at the scene following a report of a disturbance of the peace, after several motorcyclists performed maneuvers and accelerated on public roads.

According to the PMPR, during the approach, a 31-year-old woman swore at the police and was arrested for contempt. She resisted arrest and the agents used force to restrain her. During the confusion, two men were also arrested.
At the beginning of the recording, it is possible to see the police officer behind the woman and holding her by the neck with one arm, then the gate collapses and they both fall to the ground. Another woman asks “What’s all this for?” while the police officer continues trying to restrain the woman already on the ground, she faints and in the background you can hear a child crying and shouting “Mom, my mom”.

“The Military Police of Paraná (PMPR) became aware of a video that records a police intervention carried out on the afternoon of last Sunday (22), in Colombo, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba. On that occasion, military police officers were called to respond to a disturbance of peace, where, according to the requester, several motorcyclists were carrying out maneuvers and accelerating their vehicles on public roads. During the procedures to approach and identify those involved, a 31-year-old woman started swearing at the military police officers, which is why she was arrested for contempt. When resisting arrest, it was necessary to use force to restrain her. The woman’s family members then rebelled against the police, which made it necessary to call in reinforcements from other teams to control the situation. At the end of the incident, three people were arrested and taken to the police station for judicial police procedures. The woman was charged with the crimes of contempt, disobedience, resisting arrest and damage, as, during the restraint process, she damaged equipment in the possession of a police officer, including a body camera. The two men were also charged with contempt, disobedience and resisting arrest.“.
