The well-known Czech actress Daniela Kolářová has been retired for almost 15 years. The star of the films Summer with a Cowboy, Returnable Bottles and Alone in the Forest talked about whether she is satisfied with the amount of her pension.
The actress is still working at the age of 78. During the summer, she filmed a film, appears in series and works in the theater. The royalties from there are a decent addition to her pension.
“I have a calculated pension that I have to respect. I don’t want to judge whether it’s too little or too much. If I had to live only on my pension, I would probably have to cut back, but it wouldn’t be anything that couldn’t be managed. I’m glad that I’m still getting job offers, whether it’s theater, film or television,” said the Czech star.
The great love of her life was the actor Jiří Ornest. They met in 1964 at college, where they studied in the same year. They got married after 9 years of relationship, and a year after the wedding, the couple had a son, Šimon. Another three years later, they welcomed their son Matěj again. Kolářová’s marriage ended in divorce in 1988.
But the ex-spouses visited each other even after the divorce and finally got back together. They married a second time and thus strengthened their bond. Kolářová stood by the seriously ill Ornest when he became paralyzed and had to learn to walk and talk again. Jiří Ornest died in April 2017 at the age of 70. The actress has been single since then, but her sons and grandchildren make her happy.
