Argentine tourist dies in Angra after boat accident

Another 3 people were injured; according to City Hall, boats were legal

A 38-year-old Argentine tourist died and 3 people were injured after two speedboats collided in (RJ). The accident occurred at Dentista beach, on Gipóia Island, on Friday (Dec 27, 2024).

Among the injured are 2 other Argentine tourists and a local resident. They were taken to the Japuíba General Hospital.

According to the City Hall, the boats were duly legalized by the municipality’s tourism agency.

linked to the Navy, is leading the investigation into the accident. The team that was at the site found no signs of water pollution or any risks to navigation safety.
