Peace talks between Russia and Ukraine could be held in any country with a neutral stance. Slovakia is not the only option, he declared on Saturday Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. TASR informs according to the report of the TASS agency.
“No, this option (Slovakia as the host of negotiations) is not the only option. We are talking about countries that maintain a neutral position and conduct an equal dialogue with both Kyiv and Moscow. There are quite a few such countries,” specified Peskov at a press briefing in front of journalists.
The Kremlin spokesman emphasized that Moscow respects the peace efforts of several countries. “We maintain good and constructive relations with our colleagues in these countries,” he said. According to him, however, at this moment it is necessary to start the peace process at all.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Thursday that Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico expressed his willingness to host negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv. He emphasized that Moscow is not against it. This offer was later confirmed by Fico himself.
