Expert finds arsenic in the blood of victims who ate cake

Three women died last Wednesday (24), in the municipality of Torres, in Rio Grande do Sul. After the incident, an examination was carried out and arsenic was identified in the victims’ blood, the chemical element is highly toxic. The sale of this product is prohibited in Brazil.

By the Civil Police. According to Record TV, three months ago, her husband died from food poisoning. At the time, the man’s death was considered natural and was not investigated. Now, the police have asked for his body to be exhumed to carry out further tests.

During the investigation, the police found expired food in the home of the woman who prepared the cake. In total, seven family members were gathered for an afternoon coffee, when some began to feel ill after eating the cake.

The victims were identified as Maida Berenice, aged 58, Tatiana Denise, aged 43 and Neusa Denise, aged 65. The woman who made the dessert and her 10-year-old nephew remain hospitalized.
