Five emergency rooms closed this Saturday and Sunday, one of them is in Portimão

Five emergency services will be closed this Saturday and Sunday, in pediatrics, gynecology and obstetrics, according to schedules from the National Health Service (SNS).

According to the same information from Friday night, the SNS portal indicates that the following emergency rooms will be closed: Obstetrics at Portimão HospitalGynecology and Obstetrics at the Hospital de Vila Franca de Xira, Pediatrics at the Hospital Beatriz Ângelo (Loures), Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hospital das Caldas da Rainha and Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Hospital de Santo André (Leiria).

There will still be services operating with restrictions

Reserved for internal emergencies and cases referred by the Urgent Patients Guidance Center (CODU) of the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) and by line (808242424) will be the Hospital de Cascais Dr. José de Almeida, between 00:00 and 24:00, in the areas of Gynecology and Obstetrics, as well as Amadora/Sintra, in Pediatrics (00:00 – 08:00 and 20:00 – 24:00) and in Gynecology and Obstetrics(00:00-24:00).

The Gynecology and Obstetrics emergency department at São Francisco Xavier Hospital (00:00 – 24:00), Beatriz Ângelo, Hospital de Abrantes, Hospital de Santa Maria (Lisbon) and Centro Materno Infantil do Norte will be in the same situation, at the same time.

The Gynecology and Obstetrics emergency department at Garcia de Orta (Almada) will only receive cases referred by CODU/INEM, between midnight and midnight, as will the Hospital de São Bernardo, in Setúbal.

In total, around 190 emergency rooms will be open.

Health services recommend that users always call 808242424 before going to the emergency room.
