Cruzeiro is planning to sign right-back Fagner, from Corinthians, on loan. According to the Itatiaiathe agreement between the clubs involves the payment of 55% of the athlete’s salary by the Cruzeirenses, while the rest will be paid by the Corinthians.
Fagner, 35 years old, would arrive at Cruzeiro as an option for coach Fernando Diniz in the 2025 season. Right-back William has been the starter for the Celeste team since he debuted with the blue star-studded shirt in February 2023.
He has been at Timão since 2014, with a contract until the end of 2026. In 2024, however, the player experienced ups and downs.
There were 41 games with the Corinthians shirt in 2024, 36 as a starter. He contributed five assists, but received 12 yellow cards – two in the same game, which led to an expulsion.
In history, Fagner has played 563 games for Corinthians, 529 of which as a starter. in 2006, but left the club the following year and returned in 2014.
The full-back won two Brazilian Championships (2015 and 2017) and three São Paulo Championships (2017, 2018 and 2019) with Corinthians. It was also at Timão where Fagner reached the Brazilian team, with ten games between 2016 and 2019, playing in the 2018 World Cup.

Corinthians is also negotiating the 34-year-old to Ceará. In this case, according to the report, Vozão would pay 80% of the player’s salary, linked to Timão until the end of 2025.
Cruise in 2025
With Fernando Diniz retained as coach for 2025the celestial team will compete in the Campeonato Mineiro, Copa do Brasil, Copa Sudamericana and Campeonato Brasileiro.
The first official game of 2025 will be against Tombense, at 4pm on January 19, Sunday, at Mineirão, in Belo Horizonte, for the first round of the Campeonato Mineiro.
Before that, Cruzeiro will play two friendlies in the United States, during Inter&Co Soccer Week. At 8:30 pm on the 15th, Raposa will duel with São Paulo. At 4pm on the 18th, the celestial team will face arch-rivals Atlético. The two games will be at the Inter&Co Stadium, in Orlando, Florida. Until this Friday (27), the club announced four signings: Christian (midfielder), Rodriguinho (attacking midfielder), Dudu (striker) e Yannick Bolasie (atacante). Cruzeiro still has an agreement with midfielder Eduardo and attackers Gabigol and Marquinhos.
